Community Partnerships
Connected to Our Community
Beda Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu works with schools, public agencies, nonprofits, and local organizations throughout Folsom, El Dorado Hills, and the surrounding communities, building partnerships that support students and families both on and off the mats.
HOMESCHOOL & EDUCATION
Beda has accepted homeschool funding since the academy opened in 2011, with years of experience working with purchase orders, vouchers, authorizations, and vendor requirements. Eli and Brandy also homeschooled their own children for more than five years, so they understand the process from both sides and are happy to help families navigate it.
Students enrolled through participating homeschool and charter school programs may be able to use available enrichment funding toward Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu membership dues.

Additional Partner Programs
Eligibility and authorization are determined by each individual organization.
Alta California Regional Center
Children who qualify for services and receive authorization for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu may use Regional Center funding toward training.
We Defy Foundation
Qualified veterans may access Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training through the We Defy Foundation.
Adopt a Cop BJJ
Qualified active law-enforcement officers may access Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training through Adopt A Cop BJJ.
How Funding Works
Each organization has its own eligibility and approval process, but Beda has extensive experience working with families, schools, agencies, and program administrators to make the process as straightforward as possible.
1. Contact the Academy
Reach out to our team to confirm availability in the appropriate class and get help with the next steps.
2. Experience a Class
Come visit the academy for yourself, meet the coaches, and make sure Beda is a good fit before enrolling.
3. Request Funding
Work with your program contact to request the appropriate purchase order, voucher, or authorization.
4. Provide Authorization
Once authorization is received, Beda will invoice the organization directly for the approved amount.
Approved funding may be used toward Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu membership dues. Uniforms, gis, belts, and other personal equipment are not covered.
Serving the Community
Over the years, the academy has provided self-defense instruction and support for schools, churches, community groups, and local law enforcement. This includes training for staff across the Los Rios Community College District, private self-defense classes for church and community groups, and free training opportunities for local law-enforcement officers.
In 2023, Eli Beda, James Evans, and Beda Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy received a Citizen Award from the Folsom Police Department recognizing their contribution to law enforcement and public safety.
“Eli and Brandy Beda are the nucleus of BJJ in this community. Thank you so much for countless hours of dedication, devotion, and teaching to each and every member.”
